I would have to say this accomplishment is worthy of praise. For the first time in a really long time, I managed to start a crafty project for Tom and actually finish it before he gave up asking about said project. We don't need to talk about the quilt I started for him almost 10 years ago. Really, honestly, the pieces are all cut but who wants to sit down and actually assemble and quilt the darn thing?
So I bought these cross stitch patterns of the superhero pixel people to make for in E's superhero themed room. Of course, Tom had to visit the site to see what else they had and he really liked the Star Wars ones and was determined that I could cross stitch them onto shirts for him. Well he made his pick and the first character shirt has a Stormtrooper on it.
I think it turned out pretty decently. I was concerned that it was going to be crooked because it was difficult to tell once I put the waste backing down and put the shirt in the embroidery hoop to tell whether all was straight. So I just started stitching and praying.
I think I will finish the Batman and friends wall hanging for E next since that is mostly done then return to shirts for both of my boys.
Hey, Jess! Great to see you are blogging!
ReplyDeleteThe stitching on the shirt turned out rather cool!
Too cool. I hope Tom wears it to work!
